State Director: Genice Summers

Genice Hall-Summers is the State Director for SAFY of South Carolina. She joined SAFY in 2006. Genice has over ten years of human service experience, with most of her career specializing in youth and family services. She previously served as Director of Intensive Family Services Treatment and Prevention Programs for Fairfield Behavioral Health Services (BHS). Genice also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of South Carolina.
Genice received a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from Limestone College. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Human Services (Organizational Leadership) from Capella University. Ms. Summers has a wealth of experience and knowledge as a Licensed Independent Social Worker, as well as being nationally credentialed with Academy of Certified Social Workers, Certified Prevention Professional, and Certified Addictions Counselor.
Ms. Summers is active with various community and civic groups. She attends Brookland Baptist Church and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She is married to Robert Summers and they have two daughters, Robyn and Regan.
Genice believes in ‘striving for excellence’ and continues to pursue her highest potential as a social worker, counselor, educator, public servant, and woman.
