Foster Care
SAFY provides a safe and stable living environment as we work to build the tools to support permanency through reunification whenever possible.
Foster Parent Experience
Foster parents come from all backgrounds, as do the youth we serve. Having a diverse population of foster families to serve youth is important to meet the variety of needs of youth experiencing foster care. Whether you are an older adult, single, married, unmarried partners (in most states), LGBTQIA+, stay-at-home or working, homeowner or renter, fostering could fit your family.
The Basic Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age in most states
Complete required training, paperwork, and home assessment
Maintain safe bedroom space for youth
Demonstrate financial stability
The SAFY Difference: A Youth’s Perspective
95% of youth served reported feeling more positive about their future
“This has been the best experience. You guys have helped me with everything I need to become a successful adult when I move out on my own, and I love everything you guys do for us and for our foster parents.”
