About Us
Since 1998, SAFY of Alabama has worked with youth and families to reach their full potential, building the foundation of well-being we all need to contribute to our communities.
Led by Executive Director Larry Dancy, MS, LPC, SAFY of Alabama offers a blueprint of services based on research addressing the roots of trauma while effecting lasting change.
Our Services
SAFY provides family-centered services to address the underlying causes of trauma to create meaningful change. By fostering positive behavioral health through all our services, we build the well-being essential to unlocking the full potential of those we serve.

Foster Care
Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) - our TFC services provide a stable home environment with families who care for and believe any youth can achieve their full potential. Utilizing a team of highly-qualified therapeutic foster homes, we support each youth’s greatest needs. Our foster families are equipped with tools such as parental skill building and behavioral coping skills to ensure each youth’s physical and emotional health needs are met.

Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS)- our clinicians provide trauma-informed care to families with open cases with the Alabama Department of Human Resources. We connect families to community resources and provide case management, psychoeducation, and crisis management.
