SAFY of OH Introduces New Era of Mental Health Support
Lima, OH – Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth of Ohio’s (SAFY® of OH) Lima Behavioral Health (LBH), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality services to youth and families, in partnership with the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties (MHRSB), is excited to announce the launch of our innovative in-home Empowering Families: Intensive Family Services.
Allen County’s high rate of mental health needs, including depression, anxiety, substance use, and suicide with youth and caregivers, is leading to increased behavioral and educational challenges among youth, stress with caregivers, and increasing involvement in our community’s systems. Recognizing the growing demand for accessible and personalized mental health care, SAFY of OH has reimagined the traditional outpatient model to create a program addressing the challenges of our Allen County community.
SAFY of OH’s Lima Behavioral Health (LBH) has identified the need for family support and treatment services to prevent the breakdown of families and promote positive relationships and resiliency. Our Empowering Families Program includes in-home, evidenced-based case management, therapy, therapeutic group services, parenting skill-building groups, after-hours crisis intervention support, and daily youth respite through SAFY of OH’s Youth Drop-In Center.
As we shift our focus to this new initiative, LBH will close our current outpatient office-based services. This decision was made to better align our resources and expertise with the community’s evolving needs. Current clients will continue services through the completion of their therapy. LBH will cease taking referrals for outpatient programming beginning Friday, July 14, 2023. LBH has identified community partners accepting clients. Please contact LBH directly for further information at 419-222-1527.
SAFY of OH remains committed to providing exceptional care to the Allen County community. We understand change can be challenging, but we firmly believe this transition will result in enhanced outcomes and improved family functioning. We are grateful for the support of our community and MHRSB and are excited to embark on this new chapter together.
