Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is More than a Holiday
This Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let’s not just remember his iconic speeches and marches but also the spirit that fueled them: to be a tireless advocate for justice, equality, and a relentless commitment to serving our communities. Working alongside families in our divisions and states, SAFY staff embody this spirit every day – from nurturing parents through difficult times to empowering youth to reach their full potential.
Let’s continue that spirit through the National Day of Service and Remembrance on January 15th. Dr. King’s dream wasn’t about being passive; it was a call to action, an invitation to build a better world through service. It’s a day to turn Dr. King’s dream into a tangible action. Let’s volunteer, donate, mentor, or lend a helping hand. Remember, no act or contribution is too small. Just like Dr. King taught, even the seemingly insignificant threads of compassion can transform lives and bring us closer to his dream of a just and equitable world.
